jltimm
Did anyone get to actually watch the fights? I know that Chuck Lidell won by KO in the first round, and Griffin won by decision.Nick Diaz defeated Josh Neer by submission in the third round also. There was more fights, but no one I really recognize? They need a great wrestler to get Lidell on his back, or he will remain the champ for a long time! Dan Thiem
Thanks for posting the results. I was catfishing last night talking to Hanson and we were wondering how it went. Thanks again!
The Grebe
"Babalou" got put to sleep, huh? Oh well, I guess the sun will still rise? That Chuck is one tough cookie! I think he put him down in their first meeting with a kick in the KaNoggin, also in the first round? Man, them are some rough characters!
The Grebe
I was watching some Pride Fighting tonight and they have some tough hombres participating! Baroni, Silva, those Russian heavies, maybe they should have some PrideFighters vs. UFC Fighters...that might be worth paying for?
hanson
I ponied up the big money for UFC61 but skipped out on 62. Dan & I were doing a little catfishing. Priorities ya know.Anyway, on the leadup to 61, they were talking about a potential match between Wanderlei Silva and Chuck Liddell. But Liddell had to get past Babalou first. Guess we'll have to see what happens.
jltimm
The after fight interview with Lidell made it sound like Tito Ortiz will be the next match for him.Lidell said Tito was "running his mouth again" and he was gonna "shut him up!" Alot of fighters from Pride and K-1 come over to the UFC once and awhile, but usually get sent home with a beating.Vitor Belfour is over in one of those who used to be in the UFC, but is over there now.If ya want to think on something REALLY interesting, Brock Lesnar has quit Japanese Pro wrestling, and signed with K-1 fighting. Supposedly he is training with Hoyce Gracie, after 3 weeks with the Militich camp and Matt Hughes. His first fight is scheduled for 2007. He's the only guy I know that could possibly submit someone just by getting a hold of them!
The Grebe
Hanson...Now that one I would fork over some scratch to see, if they had a fairly decent undercard! I was rootin for Babalou because no one else was, although I figured he would get stiffened again. He is custom made to get starched by Liddell every time...styles. The Grebe
I don't know? If his UFC debut is like his football debut, it might not bode well for him, BUT, he does have that wrestling background and if he can learn to strike, he might be okay? He certainly has the athletic ability! How old is he?Those Russian heavies that I've seen on PrideFighting are some mean mamma jammas! They come in with a little butter covering their muscles and are still in tip top shape...hit ya like a Mac truck! Gonna take a warrior to knock those guys off! jltimm
I think Brock is in his 20's? The maximum heavyweight for the UFC is 265 lbs., so Brock would have to fight in K-1 or Pride or lose some weight, and I don't know if you can drop that much weight when your all muscle to begin with? Spinner1
I watched the PPV. Sonata charged in quick and Liddell beat him down immediately. It was a complete mismatch. He and Tito will fight in December. Liddell is getting chubby. I am a Forrest fan. He won, but wasn't as devastating a striker as he was against Tito. Neer needs to consider a new hobby. He looked bad again. There was a black French fighter. I forget his name (Konga maybe?), but he looked like a definite contender in the near future. He was a heavyweight I believe.
