Trailer Lighting Problem

JIvers

Question

I backed my Shoreland'r into the water tonight and forgot to unhook the lights. frown.gif Before anyone else points out the obvious, I already know that I am an absent-minded (Contact Us Please). mad.gif

Having established that I am an airhead, what do I do now? The rear lights on the trailer worked fine when I left the ramp, but by the time I got home they weren't working at all. The caution lights on the side of the trailer tongue, which stayed above water, still work fine.

The fixtures that hold the tail lite bulbs probley filled with water when you backed into the lake to unload and or load your boat, check the bulbs first, cold water, hot bulbs don;t mix very well.

Thnaks to all for the advice. All I needed was a pair of new bulbs. When it comes to electrical issues I am pretty much an id--I mean, not very smart, or good at it. I didn't know if fixing the problem would be as simple as changing the bulbs, or if I might have more wiring work to do.
