5th wheel portables?

I have been thinking of purchasing a 5th wheel camper to use for hunting, camping, and fishing. I am tired of tent camping and don,t want to pay the costs of motels. I want a 5th wheel so I can also tow my boat. Does anybody make a 5th wheel fish house? Why buy a camper when a nice sleeper would give me the added ability to ice fish? Ken grin.gif

Ken

I've been wanting the same setup for all the same reasons you stated. (also want a tailgate/ramp in the rear wall so that ATV or snowmobile can be driven into the trailer).

I've asked around and looked around quite a bit, especially at the Sportsman's Show.

Finally found someone who gets the message that we want a completely multi-functional unit. They are supposedly making a fifth-wheel model this fall. It's not on their HSOforum yet. All my info is from talking to them at the Sportman's show this spring.

To find them do a google search for

"custom built ice shacks by distinct builders"

I have an old 5th wheel camper that is in good shape for it's age, much smaller and lighter then most of the current moldels so weight, IMO, should not be a problem. I've been wondering how I could convert it to a drop down sleeper. It has two bunks that would be above the bed of the truck. The back could be gutted and customized. Could this be done by changing the axel to a drop dow? Or maybe by putting the camper on a drop down fish house frame?

Any ideas?
