10 Amps is a common value.

How many amps you need depends on the size of your battery (how many Amp-hours of capacity), how far it's drained, and how fast you need it to be recharged.

Say you have a 100 A-hr battery, and it's 50% discharged. Approximately 50 A-hr need to be replaced, so with a 10A charger, it would take approximately 5 hours to recharge the battery. If you had a 15A charger in the same situation, then it would take less time to charge (little over three hours) or a 5A charger would take about 10 hours.
