What happened to this poor guy?

Has anyone seen anything like this before.He seems to be healthy.He eats a lot and kicks other males out of the backyard.Sorry about having to link.I'm having some user error difficulties.

There is an actual name for this, but I don't remember what it is, but it is a molt caused by a parasite that affects a few different species of birds. Cardinals are very prone to it. Some birds actually molt regularly like this as well.

Thanks Tom.I hope it doesn't affect his health.Although that hole in the side of his face has got to be a concern.
