How do you guys fish a Bass-Oreno?? Like fishing a popper? or a crank bait?

I do both methods in the same retrive sometimes but most of the time i use it like a popper. Sometimes i start off like a popper to get there attention and then just reel in for 20 feet and then let it float up a lot of times they will hit it when it reaches the top after you have let it float up. Very versatile bait

Complete newbie here. Great forum. I've been waiting a while to see if anyone would mention the Bass-Oreno(my favorite by far). I throw 'em anywhere. Usually like a popper for a few seconds, then reel like crazy, pausing here, and there if I think there might be a weedline. My favorite is the froggy, followed closely by the white midge-oreno. I hope it's O.K. I post a pic...Can ya tell I like topwater?

A black scumfrog is my favorite. Great in the lillypads just before dark. Nothing better than a Bass on a top water We head to lake fork every spring, next year will be in May to try the top water bite.
