Anylakeanytime
Hi all!I haven't been fishing on DL since it flooded and I have only been on it twice before that. I am looking to buy a trailer on/near the lake and any info would be great! My wife's only concern is she wants a beach for the kiddie to swim at? Being that the whole lake is flooded, I am assuming beaches are few and far between? Thanks for any info,Ben
marine_man
I belive that is correct.. beaches are few and far between... and given the situation this year, I don't believe the lake has risen a whole lot due to how dry it is.. but I'm fairly certain they aren't pumping it either due to the extremely low flow of the Sheyenne River...Even if you put a beach in.. if the lake continues to rise you'll lose it in a couple of years...marine_man
iffwalleyes
I doubt you will find any as with most of the grade raise project and road work the last few years most of the shoreline are rip rap. Man it is tough to build a sand casle with 6"-18" rocks .
al jr
check out the six mile bay campground. im not sure how sandy it is but i have seen many people swinning. there is also is a great public boat access with plenty of parking.
blackdog
Grahams island has some sand right down from the public access. It seems to be really nice when you walk out there with no weeds. It drops rather quickly. there is a dock to the east where you can park your boat just down from the access. It isn't sugar sand but it is fairly nice there.
