Dog days of summer upon us?

I caught a big bag tonight on "Lake-X" but I had to fish that 6-10 foot range slow with a jig on the outside weed edge to do it. The fish are out there, just a little reluctant to chase something moving fast some days when it gets hot. Surface water temp was 80-82 tonight.

Fish deeper, The shallows are really warming up. I saw 86 degrees on Waconia tonight in the shallows on the north end of the lake. I caught my fish in 14 FOW with a jig worm.

I was out on a lake near east bethel. I have been fishing the corner of the sandbar where it drops off from about 4 ft to 12 real quick. Just casting along the weedline. Caught 15, none under 3 and one 5. Caught most texas worm, but also caught some with a DT10 blue/silver, white spinner, chart. buzzbait, skitter pop and prop. But all were caught on the drop off. the bigger fish tend to be out here vs the shallows. Tough to find one over 12 inches in the shallows.

Went out last night and got a few under docks with a Senko style rigged weedless. Made a move out to deeper water and got a few out on the deep weedline with a t-rigged tube in 12-14 ft.

Nothing big. 13-15 inches mainly. Not fast. Not bad.

Water temps were 84-85.

So for league tonight I can go shallow or deep.... crazy.gif

I love consistency.
