2nd Annual Portable Modification Get Together - Sept. 23

I'm pretty sure the rain kept the numbers down some, in fact it got my son and I out of there pretty quickly. Of course once he found out we were going by the Little Cabela's, we had to stop there first and have some lunch. I really didn't know where to start or who to talk to, so I was the guy in the blue sweatshirt being lead around by my son in a red sweatshirt. After reading Kylersk's journal on his house, it looks pretty darn nice. I Don't know who's ice house had the bubble wrap foil in it but thank you for bringing that up in the rain. I will definately be adding that to my voyager this fall.

A huge thanks go to the guys at Art Barbarians. My son fell asleep tonight with that print you gave him.... The whole way home, until he fell asleep, it was "If it is one, it is a wolf right daddy? If it is two they are timberwolves." He's getting it.....

I probably could have hung around a lot longer, but the weather and a tired 3 1/2 year old dictated otherwise. Next year, I'll broker for a full day, well rested kids, and I will bring up my voyager, with the flip top access lids and seat mounts....if I can get them built before the water turns firm. I don't think I really talked to anyone outside, I knew I had limited time with a tired little boy. Honest, next time, I will talk to people. Hopefully this winter I will make a gathering, maybe phalen or somewhere closer to home.

Can't wait to see the video on this HSOforum to help me start my voyager transformation.......

It was raining?? I barely noticed wink.gif

It can't be said enough: thank you Art Barbarians for your hospitality and generosity (and tents, they saved the day!)

Thanks, Paul & Rick for the mod demo - I know I picked up several ideas to trick out the sled

Thanks, Matt for organizing the event; it was great to meet all the people behind the postings and swap ideas. All in all I think everyone had a good day, a head full of mod ideas, and a full belly grin.gif

Yesterday was a very fun day! It's always nice getting the opportunity to meet and put a face with some of the names here on FM. And, it's always a pleasure seeing familiar faces and getting a chance to catch up on new stories smile.gif

Even though we saw some rain yesterday for a good part of the day, we still held strong and had a great time! A lot of cool modifications were brought, either individually or attached to a fish house of some sort.

I would like to give a special thanks to the guys at Art Barbarians. Chris and Adam were a huge part of the success, and they put in a lot of time to make sure things went smoothly. So, my hat goes off to Art Barbarians!

I would also like to thank Rick and Paul Waldowski for roughing it through the rain and finishing the modifications on the new Otter fish house. It turned out sweet!

Another big thank you needs to go out to love to hunt (Ed) for the mighty fine food! Ed spent a lot of time over the grill preparing burgers and hotdogs for everyone, of which he was nice enough to donate the burgers for everyone! Very cool Ed, that was quite the treat for everyone!

Several other people brought food to share too... Paul Waldowski brought all the buns and chips, nytelyter brought some clam dip and some chips, people brought cookies, the guys at Art Barbarians brought a meat/cheese try, the list goes on and I'm sure I'm missing someone, so I apologize in advance.

So, thanks to everyone who made the trip out to Art Barbarians!!!

I'm going to start a new topic for pictures and a recap. I'll have that up shortly...
