Brad Johnsons Contract

So what do you guys think they will do with Brads contract, do you think they will rework it and pay him more or leave it alone. If they don't touch it I wonder if Brad holds out during training camp?

Personally I don't think they will do much with it. And I am not too sure what they would do if he held out either...I dont think Tarvarious Jackson is ready to be startin...Come to think of it im not too sure if id like to see McMahon startin either.Brad is gettin old but I think he has another good year or 2 left in him. And by good i mean 2,000 yards, 15 TDs. Nothing spectacular. I'd look for a possible trade next year or free agent signing of a "decent" QB.

I don't know what they will do with Johnson's contract but if they don't give him a new one do you think they might be looking to try and sign Schuab next year as a free agent since they had an interest in him this year??

I think that all depends on either how Tarvarius Jackson progresses or if they think that McMahon can be a capable starter. Personally I would love to see them sign Schaub next year and let him run the offense.

With the drafting of Jackson, I don't think there's any way they go after Schaub now. They already were scrutinized for trading the two third round picks to get him. Imagine now if they brought in someone else and Jackson sat on the bench as a back up QB. Not smart.

I have to think that Brad will get some kind of bump in salary. It would be a bad message to send out to other FA down the line who are initially coming in as role players. But then again its the nature of the NFL, having to live with the contract you sign at the time. The Vikes have every right to keep it the same, though I think in this situation it may be warranted to adjust it up a bit.

I agree that would be as smart as drafting a QB with a #1 pick and sitting him on the bench while watching a geriatric Farve throw INT's all season grin.gif
