huntingislife
Is there any way to power depth finders, lights, etc using trolling motor batteries wired for a 24 volt trolling motor?
0 beer batter
Yup. Just wire up all the 12 volt accessories off the battery that has the ground wire running to the 24 volt troller. Just wire them as normal on that battery. You could probably choose either battery to do this but keeping a common ground among all devices is safer. 0 marine_man
You might need a backup plan on powering the locator with your trolling motor deep cycle... often you'll get interference off the trolling motor through the battery on your locator.I'm not certain how that will work for a 24 volt system, but I'd guess you're still going to get interference.marine_man

0 huntingislife
Thanks. I guess I will just have to try it to see if I get interference. I will cross my fingers. Maybe I will have to power it with my starting battery. Will this give me any problems?
0 marine_man
You shouldn't have interference problems with connecting it to the starting battery...I'd try connecting to the trolling motor battery first because it's close.. if that doesn't work you've got plan B.marine_man
