Rost
I'm due for another set of waders. I keep looking at the waist high one's in Cabelas and wondering if they'd be worth it. I asked the guy at Cabelas how guys were liking them...his response was "well, it depends on how deep the water is". Hmmm, duh! What I am wondering is are they easer to move around in? Overall, how do you like them?
lawdog
I've never used them, but what I've always done is kept a pair of hip boots around for going in low water areas, they are MUCH easier to get around in than chest waders. There are lots of places they don't work though... I think the waist ones would get you more places than those, but I think you'd still want chest waders for many sloughs so you'd be stuck needing two pairs... tealitup
I bought a pair of waist waders a couple years ago. Do not buy them Go for the chest waders. I thought; well I hunt from a boat so maybe I dont need the chest waders. Wrong. I bet every other time I went out with them I was soaking wet. May it be crossing a stream, getting a downed bird or just slipping on a rock. Chest waders would have kept me dry. Nothing worse then stripping naked to put your clothes out to dry and putting back on wet waders. Take my advice or you can buy mine

Ufatz
I have used waist high neoprenes since they became available. BUT you have to think about WHAT you want them for or you will end up going back to chest-high. Sitting in a wet blind (no wet (Contact Us Please)) shuffling out in shallows to set decoys (no bulky chest-highs) kneeling or sitting on boggy ground (easier to get up and down and no wet pants) You get the drill. I find them very useful and own a couple pair. I also own about five pairs of chest-highs. So there ya go!!
Sartell Angler
dang man, I'd like to know what you have for a decoy spread if your wader collection is that extensive! how many shotguns do you own?lol
tcsprtsmn
I haved cabela's waist high's (not neoprene). I love them! The protect your crotch and you can sit in them. Chest waders are not as confortable for a big man.IMO
