Linkage problems

I have a 2004 Yahmamha 75 4 stroke. I am having trouble with the linkage I have to wiggle the shifter around several times before the neutral sensor will allow me to start the motor. Has anyone had experience with this or experienced the same trouble. We have tried adjusting it but can not seem to find the spot. Any advice?????

You will have to have it serviced, since it's a 2004 is it still in warranty ?

There is a microswitch inside the remote control.

Val, I've just started getting this problem on my Johnson 140 (Johnson remote), is their anything to adjust in the control itself or is it a switch that needs replacing? Also, is this something that frequently happens?

Most remote controls are similar, there are switches inside, I don't think they can be adjusted, I think you have to replace them, but opening a remote control is a tricky job, if you don't know EXACTLY how to put it together, you'll be better off taking it to a dealer.
