mskyfshntchr
I am wondering if anyone knows the frequency and type of radio used by the logging trucks that run on the Cedar Narrows Road near Fort Frances? We tried normal CB radio last year and that was not right. Thanks!
cedarnarrowsguy
The frequency used on the cedar narrows road is 171.00 (channel 6 on the canadian truckers channel) I purchased my radio from Sound North in the Falls. They can set you up with a handheld unit with vehicle antenae for about $300-350 I think I paid. It's been a few years since I got it. I can tell you there well worth it. Years ago I traveled that road with out one and had too many close calls. I'm sure the truckers appreciate it to, as thats how they make their living. Mine has preset 10 channels including the US weather, and Canadian weather on it.
mskyfshntchr
Thanks for the info. We have had a couple of close calls on that road as well...Gets your heart beating about as much as that 50" ski that follows up to the boat out on the Manitou....Where do you fish up there? SimilarIsland
We've had some close calls on that road also. Would it do me any good to program my scanner to 171.00? I'm also wondering if they keep any consistent hours we can avoid. Thanks
cedarnarrowsguy
You'll need the proper crystals for that frequency, and might need to bring it in. My radio paid for itself; once again, over Memorial Day weekend. Good Luck.
