juddfish
I just recently purchased a used 2002 Polaris Sportsman 700 with only 230 miles and immediatly I had to bring it into the shop to have the water pump replaced (common problem on this model) I bring it home and now my battery isn't being charged. I have a brand new battery. The gauge flashes the battery and also flashes the wrench with the words Statr which stands for stator. So I did some research and decided the voltage regulator must be the problem, so I replaced that for 100$ and that didnt fix anything. So whats wrong with this thing? Any ideas? Is it the Stator that's bad? Hopefully someone out there can help.... Thanks!
Neiko
Do you know if the previous owner ran it in deep water before you? Seems like a lot of problems for a low mile ATV. Why did they sell it?
juddfish
The previous owner was an elderly guy who had couldnt get his leg over it anymore and bought a different atv that you don't have to swing your leg over it. So it hasnt been in any deep water. Any ideas on what my problem is? If it happens to be the Stator can these be repaired or are you better of replacing it?
