Electrical Problem on Lund ProV

I can hear a ticking sound comming from under my dash. If I flip the master switch the sound will stop. Sometimes the ticking doesn't start again and sometimes it does. All my electrical switches work and start the livewell and lights. All all gauges work. Can anyone help me and advise on what to check.

Try turning the master on and all other things off. Turn things on one at a time until you hear it. If it ticks when only the master is on, see what you have running. Do you have an hour meter? Maybe pull fuses one at a time until it quits.

Is your livewell pump on a timer??

The the livewell has a timer setting, but it is not that because everything will work while it is ticking and then the ticking will stop. It is not the sonar because I've shut that off and the ticking kept going. Does the ticking indicate a short? If so how would I test it.

As long as your fuses are rate correctly, a short would blow a fuse.

First, thanks to those of you who suggested solutions.

Second. What the problem was. I traced my circuits and it was live back to the pump. I pulled the pump and tested it with my battery pack and it would not run. I took the pump cover off and discovered that the wires inside and the contacts on the case had corroded and were not making solid contact. When I touched the wires and they completed disintegrated. I replaced the pump and have not heard the ticking since.
All other ciruits checked out.
