I'm wondering if anyone could recommend a campground that also rents fishing boats in the Ely or Duluth areas? Or anywhere else that someone would recommend.

Hi Banks resort on Fish Lake in Duluth rents boats and they may have a couple places to put up tents. The other option is to rent the boat for a few days and camp on one of the many public sites out on the lake. There is a site on just about ever island and several more along the west shore line of the lake. These sites are first come first serve but are free and nice. No bathrooms though so you either need to drive to the resort to use the bathroom or get friendly with mother nature.

The sites on the lake are popular and you can't reserve them so I would either try to go during the week or get up there early on a friday to claim a spot.
