Yea, I noticed its been really quiet in here. That Jim fellow out by the bay must be really busy catching some big fish grin.gif

I've been doing alot of fishing but not really a whole lot of catching. LK Superior has been really slow now for about 2-3 weeks. Been getting about one or 2 fish a outing. The St. Louis has been alright for walleyes if your there the right day. I've been doing some muskie fishing on the river to but havnt raised a shawdow.

Going back up to Nipigon for 4 days for big lakers again. Might hit Algoma and Vermillion so some trips to look forward to.

I'm kinda geting this little itch called hunting, is it to soon for that cool.gif

Well besides being sick and in bed for most of the last week I've been on the St Louis chasing eyes and made a laker trip up on the gunflint. Our group is leaving for algoma in just over two weeks and I get to go fish the Rush river for a few days starting tommorrow if i feel up to it.

Ran, I can't wait to hear your report and see the pics from your nipigon trip. That's one place I need to go, gotta love them huge colorful char. Do you mainly target monster lakers or monster brookies?

Your right guy's, this area has been quiet lately. Hope everyone is catching some fish. Was up on Rainy last week for a few day's and did well. My wife on the other hand has been fishing off the dock everynight with the flyrod and has been catching some monster gills. Last night I asked her if I could give it a toss and she said "shouldn't you still be in Canada?" Gotta love her!!!

I posted some pics on the Rainy Lake forum. Wish I could still catch a few of these around home..!!

Quick, for the last 4 yrs we've just went after the lakers on the big Nip. I know where they catch those monster brookies but its mostly a June thing and we always go in july. We might try it this year anyway for some brookies maybe get lucky.

Whats nice is if we get blown off of Nip we can either fish for blue walleyes or huge splake on nearby lakes.

You need to talk Chef into bring the balls a draggin up there cool.gif I think you would love it. Good luck on LK mich and post some picks on the wi. site for us when you get back.

Too funny.... Been pretty slow by average for putting fish in the boat lately.. As Cooter seen last week... Yesterday, I did redeem myself on those bass!!! But I wont talk about that for Cooter's sake... grin.gif Did well on some northerns as well yesterday, no size to them but caught plenty...

Now I am off to musky fish... Had some huge storms come through the area again... Man those winds are fun to watch as they come across the big lake!!

No I didn't make it down to the rush, i was going to do a 2 family visit/fishing trip but i was still feeling sick and my schedule wouldn't allow it. However, me and Illtakewhaticanget got some fly fishing in on the brule and he landed a 22 inch brown and we lost a few others. Not fast and furious action (i got skunked!) But seeing a resident brown of that size (which was released) made both of our trips.

I have heard a few reports of hex's starting further south and on the big lake area along with the designated trout lakes. All we came across were small BWOs and brown drakes.

Just got back from Merrick St Park on ol Miss - the fishing was pretty good considering the short amount of time we actually were on the water - we finally got that rain we needed, of course while I was out trying to fish! Nice campground and a variety of fishing opportunities - both backwater and main river. Although we didn't try it, sounds like the gill fishing is pretty good. Good bass fishing as well with lots of fish in the 12-14" range with larger fish present - biggest for the weekend was 18.5 although my partner lost one on the first jump that certainly was bigger. Will have to fish that again next year - gonna have to explore the river itself as the reports were the walleyes were biting well on the wing dams. Time to go Roundup a food plot. Later.

    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
    • I haven’t done any leaf springs for a long time and I can’t completely see the connections in your pics BUT I I’d be rounding up: PB Blaster, torch, 3 lb hammer, chisel, cut off tool, breaker bar, Jack stands or blocks.   This kind of stuff usually isn’t the easiest.   I would think you would be able to get at what you need by keeping the house up with Jack stands and getting the pressure off that suspension, then attack the hardware.  But again, I don’t feel like I can see everything going on there.
    • reviving an old thread due to running into the same issue with the same year of house. not expecting anything from yetti and I already have replacement parts ordered and on the way.   I am looking for some input or feedback on how to replace the leaf springs themselves.    If I jack the house up and remove the tire, is it possible to pivot the axel assembly low enough to get to the other end of the leaf spring and remove that one bolt?   Or do I have to remove the entire pivot arm to get to it? Then I also have to factor in brake wire as well then. What a mess   My house is currently an hour away from my home at a relatives, going to go back up and look it over again and try to figure out a game plan.           Above pic is with house lowered on ice, the other end of that leaf is what I need to get to.   above pic is side that middle bolt broke and bottom 2 leafs fell out here is other side that didnt break but you can see bottom half of leaf already did but atleast bolt is still in there here is hub assembly in my garage with house lowered and tires off when I put new tires on it a couple months ago. hopefully I can raise house high enough that it can drop down far enough and not snap brake cable there so I can get to that other end of the leaf spring.
