Scully, I have an Eagle Fishmark 320 portable. I just got it this summer, but it has been a great unit. Works on my boat up to 60MPH. The unit comes with the portable case and transducer. Will run off 8 d cells. My wife bought me the rechargable battery (which I only charged once this summer, only because I wasn't sure how long the battery would last and I had a lot of hours on it). I since have purchased a permanent transducer to put on my boat and will use the other one ice fishing. I believe the unit was $199, plus $20 for the rechargable battery, comes with case, transducer, bracket, and d Cell battery holder. Prior to that I had a Hummingbird portable and that worked fine until my dad plugged it in backwards on the battery, then none of the buttons worked anymore. Stuck on auto mode which was fine... Anyway, there are several portable units available. Nice that you can use them winter or summer.
