Fishing after a tournament

Our league fished a lake Monday night that we found out had a 25+ boat tournament on Sunday. What kind of things should we have done differently? We concentrated on traditional cover in non-traditional spots and did catch some fish, just wondering if anyone has advice or experience in fishing a lake that has been pounded in the last 24 hours.

If this was a C&R tourney and I'm pretty sure thats the norm these days, Bass tend to also not venture out too far from the release point also, at least for a day or so,, Dunno why but I have had that happen to me a few times and have learned from experience.. Hope this helps ya in the future grin.gif

I agree completely with deeper and slower....another piece, if you absolutely have to stay shallow and bang the bank, is to fish ALL of the dock and not just the deep end - you'll be surprised what you find under walkways in extremely shallow water that few tend to fish.

I agree with deeper and slower. But also would include

smaller and more natural colors - watermelon, green pumpkin.... You would not believe the big fish I have caught on 4" centipedes on pressured lakes.
