Abrams
If you go and don't catch fish you should sell all your gear on HSOList. . . . . .seriously.

limited out
Hey Abram, Is the the Abram lake in Sioux Lookout? My family is coming up tomorrow to fish out of Wingoa Lodge. Any special tips to follow? Thanks.
bearplott
Excellent. I am envious. Where abouts is your cabin? Are the water levels up or about normal?
Abrams
Wingoa Lodge is located on an island at the northeast part of the lake. Not far from where the Sturgeon River flows into Abram lake. Sioux Lookout is basically in and around Abram and Pelican lake. You should be hitting it right, the weeks around Memorial can offer some great fishing. slow
Abrams, any shore fishing suggestions in this area? Our group will be doing a fly out and will have an afternoon/evening with nothing to do but wait for the plane the next morning. I've seen folks by Frog Rapids and have done some shore fishing near the Bindo landing for Lac Seul. Curious if you, or anyone out there might have an idea. Thanks! Abrams
Around the Frog Rapids area I guess around dark. There is a relatively new boat launch next to the rapids. I'm sure you could pull up a pike or walleye casting a husky jerk or a jig and minnow.
bearplott
Can you tell me where this boat launch is? The one we use is before the gas station I believe, as your coming toward town on 72. It is pretty shallow there.
680T
Hey Abrams,Maybe I missed it.But,have you ever read the book Crazy Whiteman? Its about a guy that leaves the big city back when and sets up camp on an island up in your neck of the woods.I just wondered what ever happened to his camp.If there was such a place. Thanks,Matt
Abrams
bearplott - The new boat launch is right after you cross the Frog Rapids bridge on the right. There is another one on Sturgeon river road, bascially at the end of the road just keep following it. Note: the wild lupine will be in full display on the Sturgeon river road so enjoy. As for the book "Crazy White Man" Wingoa Lodge is the island where Richard Morenus lived for several years. It's a terrific book and if you spend any time in this area you should read it.
