fishhook8
On Sunday I will take my grand daughter to a lake near Roseville for a couple of hours of fishing. I would like to get into a bunch of sunnies or crappies, size doesn't matter. She is six years old. I took her to Lake Sarah last summer and she had fun. She has been asking her dad about going fishing again. For the most part he is a non fisherman he enjoys it when he goes but its not one of his priorities. All I would like is some suggestions. I have a boat and fish alot. Thanks for your input.
wingnutken
Any chance you are going to Lake Owasso? Try fishing for crappies by the ski jump if it is in the water. It draws fish like a magnet. Use a 1/16 oz. jig with a white or black twister tail. The grandaughter may need a bobber set at 3' to start. Any place on the south end near the lilly pads is a good place to start for the sunnies. barnyard
Rig with circle hooks, then she does not need to set the hook and you won't need to worry about fish being hooked too deep.Tom B
Gus
With kids I've always used really long shanked hooks and pinch the barb down. Bober, small splitshot, hook, and cut a leech into 1/4's and just use a small piece.
