White Mallard on Tetonka Lake

Was on Tetonka Lake last night and saw a mallard drake with what appeard to be a white mallard(not sure if hen or drake). We were about 2 yards from it and had a good look at it. It's size, head and bill were the same as the normal duck. The bill was black, but couldn't see if it had red eyes or not. Camera phone didn't capture it well at that distance.

Anyone else see them?

ya i saw a white mallard on pelican lake near monticello. it went vertical with about 12 other normal color mallards. it was really cool seeing it. i saw it on easter weekend.

I had an albino mallard outside of my place during deer season in 2003. Got a couple snaps with my digital camera. The bird was a 200-300 yards away, so all I could tell is that the bird was white. It got up and flew with the rest of the birds when I stepped out on the deck to take pictures.

So what would the regulations be on shooting one of those.

here is a white one I spotted a couple winters ago on Lake George in St. Cloud, MN...used to see a completely white one a number of years ago on the river in Sartell but haven't seen any lately.

I remember that white mall, great place to watch mallards drop from way up in the sky in just a split second. Wish we could find a spot like that in during the season...oh wait we did and some people ruined it for us...

yeah thats one thing that sux about hunting public land (or private for that matter)...only a matter of time before someone screws things up for you and you're forced to deal with them or find a new honeyhole. Still can't wait for fall!
