Bop214
Looking for a lake/resort/campground for sometime this summer a few hours in from ft. frances. We head up to lac seul every year and now that that one is over for the year we are looking to make another trip in. Does anyone have any reccomendations? Dont care what we catch, eyes, lakers, muskie, smallies it really doesnt matter, we just want to get away, yet have some good fishing.
aftoneyes
Bop, I'm headed to Lac Seul next week. Were the big girls biting this year. Every year I've been up there we've caught a ton of walleyes but the last couple has produced some excellent(25-29inches) size. Also curious what part of the lake you fish. Sorry I can't help you on any other places in Ontario to fish. Thanks for info.

Bop214
We fished on the west end out of ear falls. Our boat of 3 landed 400-500 fish of those i would guess 50-75 were 20-24 inches. Biggest was 26.5 and a handful of 25-26inchers. Which area of the lake are you heading to? My dad and I are going to head up there somewhere in early July. MuskyBrian
It's very hard to beat Lac Seul, if not nearly impossible. Some of my other favorite lakes in the vicinity (which all have Muskies), are Canyon Lake, The Indian Chain, and maybe Cedar Lake. All have multiple, very reasonbly priced resorts that provide good fishing. None of these lakes, or any I know of, will provide the walleye action at a drive -in like you can get at Lac Seul however,
aftoneyes
We fish the eastern part of the lake Birch Narrows. It sounds like you had an awesome time. I'm afraid this warm weather is going to kill the fishing up there. A couple years ago it was like 80 and dead calm the entire week and the fishing really slowed down. Last year we caught quite a few 25-27.5 a few 28's and the largest being 29. Thanks for the info.
Brett Erickson
One hour from the Fort is Muskie Bay Resort www.muskiebayresort.com Good lake trout, smallmouth bass and muskie fishing on Crow, Lake of the Woods (Sabaskong Bay) is across the street, plus they have access to Cedartree lake which is better for walleyes.Three hours in, I would recommend Rough Rock Lodge www.roughrocklodge.com A lot more quiet and relaxing with better walleye fishing, plus smallmouth, pike and muskie. Was just up there last weekend smallie fishing and caught tons of fish up to 21". Gambler's Little Ugly Otters were our hot bait.Hope this helps,Brett Ericksonwww.thornebros.com

Redline
We always go to the Sioux Narrows area and love it. For the past 13 years or so we have stayed at Whitebirch Lodge. www.whitebirchlodge.com. Give Pat or Marnie a call and they will set you up. We always have a great time and great fishing.
