The 05 Taurus no longer has a RAP moodule, the keyless entry pad is hardwired to the Smart Junction Box,(Fords new fuse box w/integrated module). To get your code you will have to have an NGS+ or WDS, these are the communication and diagnostic computers we use at the dealer. Do you know that the keypad is good? Does it illuminate when a button is pushed?, If you just bought the car and the seller didn't supply you with the code you will need to get it from the dealer service department by hooking up the computer, if you bought it from the dealer I would hope they do it for nothing, if not, I am a mechanic in the off season at New Brighton Ford and I will get it for you if that location is convenient. Let me know.

Car came form small dealer off the auction in MPLS, no code in glove box. Key pad works to lock the door (7 & 9 together), just don't know the code to unlock. It states in the manual that it is listed on the computer module, but don't feel to comfortable about pulling it out no know what could happen. Is this easy to do? Do you know of any other places that the code could be located? Thanks for the help....

The smart junction box is the fuse box, I know in 500's it is on the box, not sure with Taurus, look on the fuse box and cover under the dash. I do this type of work at the dealer and always hook up the machine, its much quicker most of the time, rather than crawling under the dash or into the trunk to see the numbers. If you find it it will be a 5 digit number, not having any prefix or suffix like the normal Ford part number.

Good Luck

Capt. Don

I have a F150 with the remote entry keypad (no wires) When I push a button the light comes on, but, when I punch in the override code, it does not work. Could the push button be faulty? I thought about purchasing another keypad, I do know if this is the correct route. The dealer I bought the truck from said they would take a look at it, but, seeing how far I'd have to bend over (shop rates: I was quoted a couple of hours)I figure I can get by with the keys. I am willing to pay someone to diagnose/repair. At the very least diagnose. (just not at dealer rates)
