Advice in Moving Boat Seat Base Bracket

Ice Cold

Question

I want to move the seat on my 14 foot tiller to be a little off center to allow for more room for the back seat. I am going to need to move the base bracket which will include putting about a new 2 inch hole in the floor board. Does anyone have any advice or past experience in covering the old hole in the floor board. There is carpet covering the floor board? Thanks.

When my boat was new, the seat was off set to the wrong side for me.

I had the dealer move it to the opposite side, they installed a factory cover over the old hole.

Mine happens to be a lund, and it is a lund cover made out of aluminum.

So maybe you can ask a few dealers or try Cabela's for a factory style cover.
