Baitcasting Rigs

I am new to baitcasters, I have always used spinning reels. Any recommendations to length and action of the rod and recommendations to reels. I fish spinner baits and plastic for bass and also throw spinners for northerns. Any help would be appreciated.

Rod length and action are best if matched to the presentation. I do best with a 7'M action for spinnerbaits.. and a 6'10" mh for much of my texas rigs.

Deitz hit the rod question on the head, it's all about the specific presentation. If I had to take 1 with me, it would be the 7 ft medium.

As for the reels, many of us are Shimano advocates, their line of reels covers a variety of price points. The Curado is probably the most noted reel of the line. Citica is a good choice as well. Pflueger reels have been well spoken of as well.
