Tire covers for dock bumpers

Anyone make thier own,or know where to buy some type of cover to put over the old tires used for dock bumpers? I'm looking to prevent the black scufs they leave. I was thinking of using a t-shirt, but that wouldn't last too long.

You could try wraping them in cloth tape or rope wraped round them.I don't know man if you have a $20,000 Boat why cheep out on the bumbers there $10.00 at fleet farm.

The dock came with the tires and I was debating of paying to get rid of the tires or trying to use them somehow. Anyone know what tire store charges to get rid of tires?

Tire disposel at landfills is around a buck or two apiece.
