Wiper fishing or not?

I am looking forward to playing with some wipers but then this whole mumps thing has me scared. So I ask you Iowans, "should I take the risk and come on down for some wiper action, or should I avoid Iowa like the plague?"

If you want wipers and white bass, spring and fall are the best time to get them in Iowa. Don't worry about the mumps hysteria; you have a better chance of being hurt in a car accident on your way to work.
