New Deep Cycle battery problems?

BLACKJACK

Question

When I store my boat for the winter I charge up the starting battery and take the deep cycle trolling battery out because I use it in my fishhouse. When I take the positive wires off the post I put a wire thru the clips, same with the negative wires, I tie them up with a wire. Over the winter it went bad, so I bought a new deep cycle battery. When I goto put it into the boat, the positive wire loops/clamp won't go over the post (I'm talking about the posts with the wingnuts on them). Thinking that somehow I'd swapped things around, I tried sliding the other set of wires over the post - no go. So my conclusion is that the old battery had the same size posts while the new battery has the positive wingnut post a size bigger. I looked at the RV deep cycle battery from my camper and the wingnut posts are the same size.

Is that common in batteries, where some have the same size posts and some have different size posts? And what I really want to know, is the answer to my problem as simple as getting another battery clamp that will fit over the bigger post? Only one set of wires has the bigger, clamp style end like on a car battery cable, the other just has loop ends, I'm 'assuming' that the bigger cable clamp is the positive side to handle more juice.
