An interesting wooden netsuke - I think it is boxwood - depicting a monkey riding on the back of what is either a catfish or an earthquake fish. (I believe there is a Japanese legend that an earthquake fish - resembling a catfish - resides at the bottom of the sea and, when disturbed, causes tsunami and earthquakes).

I think he was the *host* of the monkey virus and there was more than one person who caught it a few years back.. I was not immune and got the full effect of the monkey which left me flathead-less for a few months after 1st meeting and fishing with Dark30.

Lately I have been feeling monkey symptoms.. I hope I am not just paranoid and all gets better soon. If it is the monkey, hopefully the immunities kick in and it finds another victom!

I had the Monkey only for awhile. I can't look back and its time I move on. Does anyone ever really OWN the Monkey anyway? The Monkey can't stay put for long, thats just its nature...just breaking one heart after another. Be Careful Dragon!!!!
