dfv87
I noticed my livewell pump wasn't working the other day. Is replacing the pump alot of work or are there tricks to seeing if it is salvagable besides checking my wire connections?
0 PerchJerker
In my experience, bilge pumps and livewell pumps are pretty cheap and pretty easy to replace. If you check the connections and the fuse and the pump still does not work, I'd replace it. If you still want to try to fix it, try to spin the impeller and see if that does the trick. Good luck, I hope this helps.
0 klbowe
I just went through this with my boat. What happened to me is the fuse for the livewell pump was blowing because when the boat was built it must have cost too much money for LUND to install a intake screen ($7.00). The pump drew in weeds and was locking up intermittently. The pump I have is made by Mayfair and is yellow and black in color. They make replacement cartridges so if you have a Mayfair it is simply a matter of unscrewing the cart. a half of a turn and replacing it.Be advised at some places is it cheaper to buy the whole pump than the replacement cartridge. What color or who makes yours ?
0 2dalake
If you do replace it coat the connections with liquid electric tape. Keeps them dry and prevents corrosion.
