Iron River ATV trails

Recommended Posts

A group of us are thinking of doing a ride in the Iron River area and was wondering how it is for ATVing there. We got maps and it looks like there are alot of trails. Will the trails be open May 19-20 or do they keep them close like MN when it gets too wet in the begining of the year. Anyone have experience staying at the Deer Trail Lodge? Looking at possibly staying there for a night. Thanks

I have heard that most of the trails will open by the end of the month (April 30th). That could change if continues to be dry. I have been to Deer Trail Lodge and Ken Greenwood has a pretty nice operation. Plenty of area trails and the cabins are nice.

Hi Neiko!

I have land up there and have also stayed at Deer Trail before I got a cabin. This was under the old owners but the new ones are nice and the cabins are alright for you. Right on a lake(Delta) and lots of others in the area. Lots of trails and they are riding on some already. Not sure of an official opener but it is dry up there now and in need of rain. All the snow left a couple of weeks ago. There are other places to stay up in that area too if you cannot get into Deer Trail. Try Flying Eagle, The Spot, The Hermitage. All right in close to the area and access to trails. It is a very nice time to be up there. Fishing is good too and there are trout to be had and the opener is the 6th of May for everything else. Smelt are running now!

Thanks guys. Do you know if you can ride from Deer Trail Lodge? If not is there a resort around there that you can? It would be nice not to have trailer them to pakring lot.

Any reports on how the trails are? Did they get any snow around this area yesterday? Will the trails be open for next weekend still? I hope so since we have 10 people going there with reservations.
