WORTH EVERY PENNY. IF YOU GOT A COOL K-NOTE BURNING A HOLE IN YOUR POCKET, THE 17C IS A GOOD UNIT. WHERE COLOR REALLY STANDS ALONE IS IN GPS. IT'S A WORLD OF DIFFERENCE. KEEP IN MIND YOU CAN RUN SPLIT SCREEN GPS/GRAPH, BUT YOUR VEIWING AREA IS CUT DOWN SUBSTANTIALLY. GO WITH THE BIGGEST SCREEN YOU CAN AFFORD. MYSELF, AND OTHERS I FISH WITH, REALLY PROBABLY USE THE UNIT FOR 80% GPS AND 20% GRAPH AS IT'S HARD TO BEAT A CLEARWATER FLASHER FOR MARKING FISH. AT LEAST WITH THE BIG SCREEN AND GPS UP WITH A LAKEMASTER OR NAVIONICS CHIP YOU CAN TELL WHAT STRUCTURE YOUR ON AND AVERAGE DEPTH BY LOOKING AT THE GPS. IF YOU DON'T HAVE A FLASHER, YOU WILL OBVIOUSLY USE THE GRAPH CONSIDERABLY MORE.

Musky is right, the color really shines when it comes to using the GPS mapping. I would put a good combo unit on the dash and leave your flasher up front for use when trolling. Get the largest screen within budget, but I would definately go color. Greg

I have the LCX-17 combo and I really like it. Don't have the color but I have never used the color so I am not sure of the differences. Other wise is it easy to use and on the split screen is also easier to see than I thought it would be. I would recommened this unit to anyone.
