0 irvingdog Posted July 11, 2004 Share Posted July 11, 2004 Meh. Rear drag is just plain silly.Drag is set and balanced to the action of the rod, and the weight of the line. It does not matter if the fish is big or little. Drag was not meant to be fiddled with in mid-catch.As far as Shimano, sounds like you got a lemon, if you've got a problem with it. 0 jltimm Posted July 11, 2004 Share Posted July 11, 2004 What model of Shimano reel did you have trouble with?There are several models w/rear drag and the quickfire system that you are talking about.Price's from 19.99-59.99.FX to Symetre.I also request the quickfire and rear drag,and refuse to own any other spinning reel other than a Shimano.
