Shaw grigsby tube hook

Undo the clip, thread the point of the hook through the top of the tube, coming out about 1/8", turn the hook and rig like a normal texas rig, redo the clip onto the hook shank.

They work well and do a good job of keeping the tube up on the hook.

Ikeslayer, this is a great!!! hook to use when skipping docks. It keeps just about any piece of plastic on the hook, without letting it slid down the shank. Also, if the "gills" are a problem on the docks, the keeper holds the plastic in-place even after the gills have been pecking at it.

Don't forget to put a 1/16 or 1/32 shaw grigsby weight in the tube, then when you stick your hook in the end run it through the wire before you pop it out of the tube. This will lock the weight in place and will allow the tube to fall very naturally as it glides to the bottom. This is deadly on docks! Hang on and set the hook.

One thing I don't like about these hooks is that I have had a problem with them getting rusty. Even brand new ones that I put in my hook box.

I use the 3/0 or 4/0 size. They seem to give me better hooksets!

Good luck! cool.gif

I'm with you on this one Ole.. they come out of the pack fairly dull, but take a point rather quickly. I think the metal in the hook is a tad soft... A good hook, I like ahook I can shapen. Some hooks on the market you can try to sharpen but your sasting your time they are so hard.
