I like the one with the wings extended best, but I know lots of people prefer to see birds perched a bit more statically.

At any rate, gray jays are so tame and easy the challenge is getting them to stay far enough away to shoot them, especially when there's food involved. I had to knock the 100-400 down to 285 for these. Pretty decent camouflage for a gray/white/black bird in a gray/white/black and lichen environment, too. grin.gif

Which do you prefer?

Canon 20D, Canon 100-400L IS at 285mm (right about at this zoom's sweet spot), iso400, 1/800, f8, handheld.
