catmaster1557
Was up fishing today in the st. peter area. the number of ducks and geese was crazy. seen two big flocks of snows prolly 600-700. Took highway 5 back to new ulm. All the little sloughs were FILLED with Geese and mallards. Also there was about 30 snows sitting in a field outside of klossner. To bad we didn't have the guns with. Anyone else seeing any snows around, because i was pretty surparaised to see them.
IceHawk
I have been seeing bunches of geese(darks)over the last few days. It has been quite a site locally with numerous birds in the area. I have seen swans, divers, mallards and a pile of canada's flying around. This time of the year is a waterfowlers blessing. The birds are everywhere and are in full plumage. Seeing all of these birds now really gives a person the itch to get out hunting again! Mn does harbor quite a few numbers of snows in the SW corner of the state in the spring. I'm sure more fly through the areathan stop. Occasionally some swing over that corner and decide to rest and feed, bringing them down. A big bonus for hunters to see and hunt snows that never get a chance to.
jblabsnduck
father in-law(hunted for at least 30 years) said he had seen about 30 flocks of snows during the day saturday. Would tell you where but we might end up hunting them this weekend. I will tell you it was no more than a hour south of shakopee.

Eric Wettschreck
Lots and lots of honkers down in SW MN. Mallards too. I've been seeing some flocks of snows, but way more honkers than snows.

riverrat56
Driving out to work today, I saw what looked like a partridge sitting in the feild, wasn't sure, looped around, nope no partridge, big drake woodie and a hen sitting a corn stubble feild covered in snow, far from any water source.....thought that was odd?
