Actually, I'd bet there is decent water flowing through at Flandreau. Especially if they get snow up north like they forcasted. Let me know when you are heading over Aaron. Maybe I'll meet up with you.

Has anyone been to Flandreau this year?

Welcome Ben!

There are a few spots that come to mind that a person can fish with waders. I would say the closest spot to you would be the Big Sioux River. I am not sure on any exact locations, but I am sure any of the local baitshop guys could point you in the right direction. I hear about guys catching fish there often in the spring.

Each year a number of shore fisherman gather on any givin point on Lake Madison and do well. Johnsons Point and Walkers Point tend to be very popular. There is also a nice point on the SW side of Brandt that tends to produce.

Give them a shot. Hope to see you around on this forum often!

Every spring I wade the swimming beach at Lake Vermillion in the evening. Cast jig and minnow. Always seem to pick up a couple of walleyes doing that. There is usually few other guys there also, so just find an open spot.

I was going post on this thread that I will be up that way this weekend, and was wondernig myself if anyone else had been out there.

I have actually never fished up there, I have shore fished the river in dell rapids, but I dont have a clue as to where to fish or what to even fish with by flandreau.

Perhaps a small get together this weekend?

Well fished below the (Contact US Regarding This Word) today and got skunked. Was only out from about 2:30 to 5:00pm. Was cold chilly and we didnt land a fish all day.

I litterally threw everything in the tackle box today, and fished with crawlers, minnows, and plastics and not a bite. Bite wasnt bad for every one I saw a few nice pike landed, but other than that not alot of action. About a dozen or so people out.

I was there this morning (sun) from 7-9:30. I caught one 14" eye and 10 or so carp mad.gif. I should say I snagged the carp. Nobody else was there. It was cold but tolerable. Maybe next weekend the weather will be a bit warmer.

Good Luck.
