bigdog
I just picked up a float tube and was wondering if a guy needs to use some flippers to paddle yourself around. Have never used a tube before so looking for some recomendations. Expect I will be wearing waders if that makes any difference.
0 bwtrout
you definitely will need flippers to get around. they make a huge difference in movement. i would steer clear of any fancy design and stick with the swim fin type. the other inventive designs felt unnatural to me. i bought some side fin jobbers and one broke on me. it was a long one footer back to shore. 0 Surface Tension
Unless you have webbed feet I would get a set of fins.
0 protrapper
Yes, you need flippers. The standard ankle buckle ones are the easy and best out here I have found. I do guided float tube trips around Grand Marais and the Gunflint Trail.I had a guy bring his own tube and fins. THey where some fancy high priced fins and one broke not 10 minutes into fishing. About an hour later his tubed sprung a hole. What a fiasco.
0 bigdog
Thanks for the replies. I am not admitting to having webbed feet so imagine I will be shopping for some swim fins.
