Boat Painting Question

I'm about ready to paint my boat. On the stern is a (for lack of a better term) wood/pressboard stern plate that the outboard rests against. Can this be painted with the same primer and epoxy paint as the aluminum? Or do I need a different set up for this? Thanks.

Actually, it works quite well. We've painted many of them at the shop with the same primers that we use on the rest of the boat and never had a problem. The only thing would be if it was bare wood, to make sure that it isn't greasy. If it is, then sand the outer layer off untill it's clean fresh wood, but if it's already got paint on it, just prep it the way you are prepping the rest of the hull and paint away.
