CDI Box or Power Pack?

My mechanic tells me I need a new CDI box for my 1985 25HP Johnson manual start. Can anybody tell me if the CDI box and the Power Pack are the same thing? Also, does anybody know where I can get one used or if necessary, a new one? I live in the LOW area at Warroad but I'm leaving for the Twin Cities area late tonight so can go most anywhere. My wife says, in order to provide her with enough beer money I have to buy one as cheap as I can. Thanks for any help guy's.

The power pack for that motor shouldn't be much more then $100.

Sometimes you can find them at auto parts stores too, for less money.

I would never buy used electical equiptment.

To answer your question, Yes, the CDI and powerback would be the "same thing" as you reference it.
