An F 350 needs more compared to an F150 shocked.gif

Seriously though, if you would drive a 150 on 14inches, for a 350 you'd probly want 18inches.

Any ice which you are currently on or are going onto is questionable ice.

The only safe ice is ice which you have just safely gotten off of.

Of course as soon as you go back onto it, it then immediately becomes questionable ice again.

desperado thanks for the response - obviously I am not going to hold anyone responsible for me dropping my truck in the lake - just getting a feeling on the weight difference. Looking at buying a bigger truck.

Good luck on the truck shopping. I just bought a C2500 crew cab diesel two days ago. It weighs quite a bit more than the Explorer I had, so I know where you're comin' from.

My big disclaimer is actually my personal approach to ice. It's served me well whether driving on a foot of ice or walking on 3 inches.
