Fishing Muskies with a dog in the boat?

How many of you fish Muskies with your dog? I am looking for some tips that would allow me to do this.

My lab Maggie gets way to excited when I take her musky fishing. I am not sure if it is just being in the boat or if it the fact that the baits look similar to training dummies?

Thanks any help would be great!

i have had bad luck with my black lab molly. with some stern instructions i can get her to sit and watch (even that took some time with a bucktail - she cannot handle the jackpot) but one day after about 20 minutes i had a nice fallow and she freaked out when she saw this big dark thing in the water chasin my bait around - she ended up in the lake and i had to drop my bait to the bottom so i would not hook her. needless to say i did not get that ski - nor does molly get to come musky fishing anymore.

she does fine draggin a lindy rig but bobber fishing just is another game of fetch....

My springer jumped up on the seat scared of the 48" ski I landed with him in the boat. He's taken a few hooks over the years so he's learned not to chase anything thrown from a rod. I'm lucky I guess. Hopefully the little one will learn some manners from the old dog.

molly got 5 hooks in her from a rap while trollin with the pontoon for walleyes - i was able to push them thru and cut the barbs off and slid them out. she also bite down on a rap i had in my hand one time driving the hooks into my fingers and the roof of her mouth - man dogs are fun....

Here are my guides........they help to weigh the bow down when I'm out solo!! Other than the brown one deciding to jump out and chase a raccoon on shore up a tree, I've had no worries!

I just hate leaving them at home! If it's a 14 hour day on Mille Lacs or something they stay home, but my in town days are usually dog days.

My springer Baxter he sleep in the back of the boat all day except if he smells a duck, goose, or a loon he is in the water trying to catch it. Never had any problems with him chasing lures.

Say no-net........guessing i know you from someplace.....aghhem, I can't believe that mut of yours lays anyplace and sleeps,

My dog stays home no matter what I'm fishing for, she freaks out in a boat, plus she jumped off a bridge once, so I don't really trust her around water.
