Down to Earth
I came across what looks like a decent oven recipe for fish and it calls for white fish fillets such as haddock, halibut or cod, of which I have neither with out going to the store. My question is there a fresh water alternative I could use? Walleye, Sauger, Lake Trout, etc. Here is the list of what is going into the bake:1 large baking potatoe2 TB Zesty Italian Reduced Fat Dressing1/2 pouch Shake N' Bake Extra Crispy Seasoned Cooking Mix1/2lb of fillets2 TB Miracle Whip Light DressingIf anyone wants me to post the prep for the recipe let me know and I will. Thanks.Andy
vermilionfox
Down To EarthI wouldn't hesitate to use any of the fish you mentioned in the recipe. I don't have much experience with lake trout, so don't hold me to that one. The only thing to remember is that cooking times would vary with filet thickness, and the fish called out by the recipe are usually thicker. Just keep that in mind. Please do post the prep portion of the recipe, it looks good so far.
