What Lake is Best?

I am planning on heading out ice fishing this weekend for one last shot and would really like to catch a trout. Can anyone provide advice on the best lake with-in 1-2 hours of Minneapolis to catch a trout? I really want to catch a trout through the ice and need advice to increase my chances.

Right now I am considering Big Watab near St. Cloud. Good or bad choice?

try Foster-Arend lake in Rochester. There are many posts about the lake in the Rochester forum. I'v never had much luck in the winter at Courthouse lake in Chaska, but always did well at Fosters. plus you can use live bait/minnows there

DEADhead, have you ever fished sugarbush lake up there just outside of detroit lakes? If so, how have you done, and where might be a good place to go on the lake? I have fished it a couple time and havent had much luck, but I keep hearing that it is a good crappie lake.

I can't say that I have, or know many people that have. Besides, I'm usually chasing after trout anyway
