Flag Island Crappie Bite!

Flag Island Dan

Recommended Posts

The fishing at Flag Island continues to be great with excellent catches of Crappie and Walleye. The recent cold snap has firmed up alot of the slush on the lake, therefore travel has improved. The Little Traverse Rocks still have not turned the corner, however the shoreline points and some bays and neckdown areas with current are putting out great catches of walleye.

The groups that targeted crappie experienced excellent numbers and size. Fish averaged eleven to thirteen inches with a mix of small and larger. The bite started early and continued into mid day.

F I D,

That's an encouraging report. We'll be with sleds and portables and staying near Wheeler's Point Friday-Monday. I'm estimating the trip to be about 35 miles from there to Flag. Is that correct? Another question- Are these crappies being caught in the U.S. or Canada?

Thanks!

MJ
