Troll speed on 115 4 stroke

I have a merc 115 4 stroke that trolls down to 3.5. Can i get this down lower without using a drift sock? thanks

I assume it's GPS speed you checked.
It sound a little high, you should be able to get around 2 mph.
Anyway, yes a drift sock will help a lot, the larger the better.

What are your rpm's at? I have a 90 4 stoke and get down to only 2.8 on a 1100# boat. My 90 runs at about 600 rpms at the slowest throttle setting. I need to run a trolling bag or couple of 5 gallon buckets to go slower (down to 1.5 with 2 buckets out the sides)

PS: the pitch of your prop can also have a impact on troll speed. i have a stock aluminum 17p.
