7 color flasher?

Now that we have the 3 LED True color from Marcum, what is stopping us from having a 5,6, or 7 color display from blending different combinations of blue, green, and red LEDs like in a TV. The FL18 and FL8 and the LX1 and LX3 blend 2 LEDs to get 3 colors and that seems to work great. Is there a limit to the sensitivity of the current transducers to limit the levels of displayed colors to 3 on our flashers? I thought that the TFT screens on the Lowrance units could do 5+ colors, but please correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks, McGurk

Yup, you get more colors with the Lowrance. I don't rememer if it's 5 or 7, but it's somewhere along those lines.

Isn't it around 256?

It's a 256 color screen. When you put it in Ice-flasher mode, it simplifies it down to less colors. Run in regular sonar mode, though, and you get the full gammet of colors.

How many colors do you guys really use when fishing anyhow? Just a question because when I fishing I use Red and then everything else. Not to say the other colors aren't nice but that is what I like in the flashers they are nice and simple and dependable. Key word for me SIMPLE.
