Strikemaster Auger problem???

hondavxr

Question

My auger started this season running great, but after a trip to the URL, it started to act up. The auger string does not recoil all the way now, there’s about 3 inches hanging loose, and when I start the auger it can't not idle. I have to mess with the idle screw a bit for it to run. I think its messed up because I had a group of people go to URL and they don't treat my auger like how I would treat it. My question now is, do you guys have any shops you guys recommend to take this auger in for repairs? Thanks for the replies in advance.

Take it in and give your buddy the bill. grin.gif

Most likely they gave it a hyper pull and popped the recoil spring off the retaining stud or even broke it off. If your familiar with recoils its and easy fix, if not you might end up with parts flying.

Sounds like they messed with the mixture screw too. Try backing it out in 1/8th turn at a time.

Or bring it in and give them the bill.

One tip if you borrow out an auger, give them a gallon gas can premied along with starting instructions.
